“We have invested 30 million TL in digital agriculture technologies”
Veysel Memiş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tat Food (Tat Gıda), announced that they have invested 30 million TL in digital agriculture technologies over the past five years.

Veysel Memiş stated that all production areas have been digitally mapped, yield prediction models have been developed and decision support systems have been rolled out. Emphasising that these investments have yielded tangible results, Veysel Memiş said, “We have increased yield by 28 percent with soil analysis devices, moisture sensors and digital insect traps and reduced water consumption by 23 percent with an AI-supported effective water use management project for tomatoes.” He added that early warning systems have enabled a 44 percent reduction in pesticide use this year.
Pointing out that they have long-term green transformation goals with the EBRD, aiming to reduce fertiliser-related greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent, toxic chemical use by 20 percent and water footprint by double-digit percentages in both Tat agriculture and contracted farmers by 2030, he noted, “We have demonstrated that agriculture and energy production are possible on the same land with the Horizon Europe PV4Plants project, one of Türkiye’s first integrated agriculture-energy pilot applications.”

‘We will meet 97 percent of our electricity needs from renewable sources’
Underlining that Tat Food has also accelerated its renewable energy investments and that they have reached an important stage in energy transformation, he explained, “With the approximately 2-megawatt capacity solar power plant commissioned in Manisa Yunusemre Akçaköy, approximately 19 percent of Tat Food’s total energy needs are met by solar energy. Moreover with the completion of the 7.3-megawatt solar power plant investment, whose construction has begun in Afyon Dinar Çiçektepe, 97 percent of the company’s electricity needs will be met from renewable sources.”
“These investments contribute significantly to both reducing the carbon footprint and achieving our long-term sustainable growth targets,” he concluded…
