Emphasizing that they aspire to strengthen Turkey’s position in global ecology market, grown 500 percent in the last 15 years, Aegean Exporters’ Associations Board of Organic Products Chairman Mehmet Ali Işık said that their goal is to reach 1 billion euros.
Stating that the product diversity has reached over 250 in 35 years of organic production in Turkey, Işık noted, “Aegean Exporters’ Associations have been arranging Organization of Turkey’s National Participation to the world’s largest organic products exhibition Biofach Nuremberg for 23 years. We have come a long way in organic food. But we also have a lot of experience other than food. Turkey is doing this job for years. We set off with cotton. The larger our sector is the greater our strength will be in the region. Therefore, it is an area where we can easily have a say.”
Işık added, “We should take the organic further with all our colleagues. Our geography has both a producer’s vision, soil and water to produce these products. I believe that with a solid infrastructure in digital transformation, we will create a serious economic return to the national economy and all sectors. If we consolidate with apparel and textiles, we will emphasize the image of İzmir more.”
“We should consider the exhibition busines strategically and evaluate the last quarter of 2020 very well in this respect. We must be active in any organization that will contribute. We have been supporting ecology industry for years. Our activities continue with the Ecological Agriculture Organization Association (ETO),” Işık concluded…
