In the first three months of 2025; 78 thousand 755 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported from Türkiye and foreign currency inflow amounting to 643 million 680 thousand dollars was obtained. When these export realisations were compared with the same period of the previous year, the amount of exports soared by 2 percent, while the value soared by 7 percent.

Sebahattin Arslantürk, Vice President of the Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Sector Committee of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), who made evaluations on the subject, stated that in the first three months of the year, exports were made to 106 different countries from the country and that the top 5 countries to which the most exports were made were Italy, Germany, France, Poland and Spain respectively.
Pointing out that during the 7-month period of the hazelnut export season, Türkiye exported 213,519 tonnes of hazelnuts, earning 1.73 billion dollars in foreign currency, Arslantürk said, “This marked an 11 percent spike in quantity and a 23 percent spike in value compared to the previous season. In Trabzon province, hazelnut exports in the first quarter of 2025 reached 25,650 tonnes, generating 229.31 million dollars in foreign currency intake. This represented a 5 percent increase in quantity and a 15 percent increase in value compared to the same period the previous year.”

“Trabzon ranked first in hazelnut exports during this time, with Trabzon exporters alone accounting for 36 percent of the country’s hazelnut exports in the first quarter of 2025. In the 2024/2025 export season, Trabzon’s hazelnut exports saw a 29 percent increase in quantity and a 53 percent increase in value, amounting to 62,407 tonnes and 557.94 million dollars, respectively,” he added…
