SAFFET KALYONCU: TOTAL EXPORTS OF THE EASTERN BLACK SEA REGION EXCEEDED 1 BILLION DOLLARS

Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Associations (DKİB), said that in the January-September period of 2023, exports from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gümüşhane provinces in the Eastern Black Sea Region amounted to 1 billion 31 million 873 thousand 835 dollars and there was a 6 percent increase in exports compared to the same period of the previous year.

“In the first 9 months of 2023, exports from our region are 784 million 581 thousand dollars from Trabzon, 164 million 931 thousand dollars from Rize, 47 million 771 thousand dollars from Artvin and 34 million 588 thousand dollars from Gümüşhane. Compared to the same period of the previous year, exports from Trabzon increased by 12 percent and exports from Artvin increased by 7 percent, while exports from Rize decreased by 6 percent and exports from Gümüşhane decreased by 30 percent due to the decrease in exports of mining products,” he explained.

In the first 9 months of 2023, the sectors with the highest exports from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gümüşhane provinces of the Eastern Black Sea Region;

  • Hazelnut with 391 million 101 thousand 752 dollars,
  • Aquaculture and Livestock Products with 167 million 894 thousand 476 dollars,
  • 157 million 927 thousand 196 dollars with Fresh Fruit and Vegetables,
  • 112 million 392 thousand 29 dollars with Mining and Metals,
  • 31 Million 726 Thousand 324 dollars with Chemical Substances and Products.

“In the January-September period of 2023, exports were made to 135 different countries from our Eastern Black Sea Region and the first 5 countries with the highest exports were; Russian Federation, Italy, Georgia, Germany and the People’s Republic of China. Among these countries, exports to the Russian Federation soared by 26 percent, exports to Italy by 42 percent, exports to Georgia by 6 percent and exports to Germany by 2 percent,” he added…
