Recognising outstanding initiatives for bees, biodiversity and Europe’s farmed landscapes!

Press release…

Since 2014, the European Bee Award celebrates and rewards inventive, effective, and scalable projects that safeguard pollinators across Europe.

Applications are now open for the 2026 edition. We welcome applications from farmers, landowners, researchers, academic institutions, and public or private organisations. The 4 award categories are:

  • Land management practices
  • Innovative technological and digital solutions
  • Community action
  • Biological solutions

An independent jury chaired by Professor Michael Garratt will select one winner in each category. From these four winners, one project will be awarded the European Bee Award grand prize of €4,000, while the remaining category winners will receive a diploma of recognition. However, if no application is deemed sufficiently relevant in a given category, the organisers reserve the right not to award a winner in that category.

All winners will benefit from visibility through ELO and John Deere communication channels and will be recognised during the Award Ceremony in Brussels.

The European Bee Award is open to everyone!

Applications open now and close on 11 September 2026.

We reward farmers, landowners, research institutes, academia, and private and public organisations who develop outstanding and innovative projects aiming to protect bees or other pollinators and helping to preserve biodiversity.
