PINAR DAIRY TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG FARMERS…

A protocol was signed between Pınar Süt (leading dairy company in Turkey) and İzmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry for the development of young farmers.

A new cooperation was signed with İzmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry under the direction of Pınar Institute, which was established to raise awareness in the public opinion on food, health and nutrition issues and to contribute to the healthy development of the society.

In this framework, a protocol was signed between Pınar Süt and İzmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry on Wednesday, July 14, within the scope of the “Young Farmer Vocational and Individual Capacity Development Programme”.

İzmir Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Mustafa Özen, Deputy Provincial Director Fatih Kılıç and Pınar Süt Chairman of the Board İdil Yiğitbaşı, Pınar Süt General Manager Gürkan Hekimoğlu, Pınar Institute Director Ümit Savcıgil and Pınar Corporate Communications Director Mehmet Aykırı attended the protocol meeting.

The programme which will be implemented with the aim of supporting and contributing to the development of both young farmers and female producers, based on the declaration of 2019-2028 as the “Period of Development and Expansion of Family Farming” by the United Nations, will cover women and men between the ages of 18 and 40 living in rural areas. In order to ensure sustainability in family farming, research will be carried out with the Ankara University Development Studies Research and Application Center (AKÇAM) in order to support young people and determine their motivation and expectations for continuing farming.
