Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı disclosed that the first yoghurt formulation developed by the research institutes affiliated to TAGEM (General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies) has been applied for a patent. He also noted that the formulation in question was the product of a 3-year study.

Speaking about the first yoghurt formulation developed by TAGEM, Minister Yumaklı said, “We are carrying out new studies in the field of food as well as increasing the productivity of animals. Especially TAGEM General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies has studies. The first yoghurt formulation developed in our research institutes affiliated to TAGEM and for which a patent application has been made will be introduced today.”
“It is the product of a 3-year study. I would like to say that this product, which is a food of Anatolia, yoghurt, which is known by the same name all over the world, is obtained from local and national yoghurt yeasts collected and isolated from different regions of Anatolia. When the patent process is completed, these formulations will be put into the service of our entrepreneurs for commercialisation. Thus, our foreign dependence on dairy yeasts will be completely over,” Yumaklı added…
