TURKIYE’S FOOD AND BEVERAGE FOREIGN TRADE…

Türkiye’s foreign trade deficit soared by 268.1 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 9 billion 595 million dollars and increased by 156.3 percent in the January-September period to 83 billion 97 million dollars.

On the other hand, foreign trade surplus of food increased to 7 billion 228 million 301 thousand dollars with exports of 1 billion 934 million 267 thousand dollars in September and 15 billion 281 million 540 thousand dollars in the January-September period.

While Türkiye exported 1 billion 934 million 267 thousand dollars of food in September 2022 and 15 billion 281 million 540 thousand dollars in the January-September period; imports amounted to 1 billion 65 million 579 thousand dollars in September and 8 billion 53 million 239 thousand dollars in 9 months.

Beverage exports amounted to 375 million 934 thousand dollars in the 9-month period with 46 million 567 thousand dollars in September, while the import amount was 86 million 761 thousand dollars in September 2022 and 737 million 674 thousand dollars in the January-September period.

Thus, in the 9-month period covering January-September 2022, the country had a foreign trade surplus of 7 billion 228 million 301 thousand dollars in food, while it had a foreign trade deficit of 361 million 740 thousand dollars in beverages…
