Muhammet Öztürk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Association, stated that his association closely follows developments in the pet sector and that they are pleased and proud to observe the sector’s significant strides in exports.

Öztürk shared that the export volume of the pet food sector worldwide is expected to reach approximately 28 billion dollars by 2025, adding, “The pet food sector has also gained significant momentum in our country. The sector’s export volume, which was 4.5 million dollars in 2014, surged 33-fold to reach 150 million dollars in 2025. By the end of 2025, we will have exported cat and dog food to 112 countries. We will work hard to both increase export figures and open up new markets. Another aspect that makes the sector special, in our opinion, is that of the 150 million dollars in exports in 2025, 93 million dollars will have been made from our region. The number of companies in our sector is surging day by day.”
Emphasising that they worked hard to support the development of the cat and dog food sector, Öztürk said, “We are in contact with the Cat and Dog Food Producers Association (PETBİR) regarding the problems of the sector. We have brought together 14 companies in the sector in a Trade Ministry-supported URGE project and started our clustering activities.”
“Within the scope of this project, we aim to enhance the competitiveness of our companies in international markets by offering opportunities such as 75 percent state-supported training, consultancy, sectoral trade delegations and trade fair participation. We are continuing our work with our participating members towards this goal,” Öztürk noted…
