Öztürk: “Export of cereals, pulses, oilseeds has exceeded 10 billion dollars”
Sharing the information that Turkiye’s food exports have reached 24.5 billion dollars in the last 1-year period, Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association Chairperson Muhammet Öztürk said that as the grains, pulses oilseeds sector, they accounted for 42% of Turkiye’s food exports with 10 billion dollars of exports.
Explaining that it is necessary to make an intensive effort to increase the production of agricultural products that can be grown in Anatolian lands, especially vegetable oil, wheat, barley, corn and pulses, which Turkiye has a foreign trade deficit with, Öztürk said, “If we boost our agricultural production with the right programme, our annual exports will rise as well as in 2021. Our food imports, which reached the level of 19.5 billion dollars at the end, will decrease even more”.
