Mersin’s export champions in fishery and animal products awarded…

The Mediterranean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association (ASHİB), which supports Türkiye’s animal food exports of 3.86 billion dollars in 2024 at the level of 382 dollars, rewarded 41 members from Mersin province who gave the strongest support to this performance.

In 2024, the plaques and certificates of the companies from Mersin region, which are members of ASHİB and have reached a million dollar value in fishery and animal food exports, were presented by Sinan Kızıltan, Chairman of the Turkish Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Associations Sector Board, Yüksel Akgöl, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ASHİB and along with the members of the Board of Directors of ASHİB.

Speaking at the ASHİB Mersin Consultation Meeting and Award Ceremony held in the meeting hall of the Mediterranean Exporters’ Associations (AKİB) service building, ASHİB Chairman Yüksel Akgöl said that they are very happy and honoured to reward the success of the animal food export champions in Mersin with plaques and certificates after Kayseri and Hatay provinces.

Yüksel Akgöl stated that Mersin stands out with its strategic position in the country’s foreign trade and plays a critical role among the most important export gates of the country thanks to its port infrastructure and logistics facilities.

Noting that Mersin province offers fast and effective export opportunities to many regions, especially the Middle East and North Africa, thanks to its developed port and logistics infrastructure, Akgöl said, “The processing facilities and cold chain systems in our Mersin region ensure that the products are protected and shipped at international quality standards. In terms of creating added value in the export of aquaculture and animal products and contributing to rural development, Mersin is not only an exit gate, but also a key link in a value chain extending from production to marketing.”

Akgöl also added that in 2024, Mersin’s top three exports of animal products were prepared, canned meat and offal, fresh chilled fish, poultry meat and offal product groups…
