In the January-June period of 2025, 143,700 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported from Türkiye, generating 1 billion 182 million 901 thousand dollars in foreign exchange income. When compared to the same period of the previous year, there was a 1 percent decrease in volume and a 1 percent increase in value.

Mehmet Cirav, Chairman of the Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Sector Committee of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), stated that exports were made to 116 different countries in the first six months of the year, with the top five export destinations being Italy, Germany, France, Poland and Spain.
Cirav underlined that the hazelnut export season, which began in September, generated 2 billion 273 million 899 thousand dollars in foreign exchange revenue from 277 thousand 604 tons of hazelnut exports over a 10-month period. He also noted that, there was a 7 percent increase in volume and a 15 percent increase in value compared to the same month of the previous year.
Pointing out that during the 10-month period of the 2024/2025 export season, 81,238 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported from Trabzon province, generating 720 million 9 thousand dollars in foreign exchange income, he added, “Compared to the same period of the previous season, there was a 20 percent increase in volume and a 34 percent increase in value.”
