Antalya Commodity Exchange Chairman Ali Çandır announced that Antalya province has 7 percent of the strawberry production areas and 9 percent of the production amount in Turkiye.
Ali Çandır, Chairman of the Board of Antalya Commodity Exchange (ATB) and Antalya Agriculture Council (ATAK), stated that Antalya has 9 percent of Turkiye’s strawberry production amount and that this rate will increase with appropriate production techniques.
The journey of the strawberry from production to consumption, which was evaluated at the Interactive Strawberry e-Workshop held last year in cooperation with Antalya Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and ATB, was collected in a book. In the book, diseases seen in strawberry production, new technologies and the economic dimension of production were explained with scientific studies.
Çandır, in his statement, noted that the consumption of strawberries in Turkiye and in the world is boosting day by day.
STRAWBERRY EXPORTS RISE TO 12TH RANK…
Indicating that Turkiye ranks fourth in world strawberry production with a share of 5.5 percent, Çandır pointed out that it has risen to 12th place in strawberry exports with the rise in strawberry production capacity in the last 5 years.
