Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade Export Director General Kılıçkaya stated that Türkiye’s share of global trade has soared to 1.07 percent and that the country holds a 1.5 percent share of global agricultural exports.

Pointing out that the global economy has been shaken by a series of crises and geopolitical tensions, Kılıçkaya said, “However, Türkiye stands tall in this storm with its production power, export ambition and investment appetite. Despite the current global challenges, our economy maintains its resilience and is steadily progressing within the framework of a growth approach focused on production, exports and investment.”

Emphasizing that the Turkish economy has been growing uninterruptedly for twenty quarters, with the growth rate reaching 4.8 percent in the second quarter of 2025, Kılıçkaya continued: “In 2024, our exports rose to 261.8 billion dollars, thus reaching a 1.07 percent share in global trade. In the January-August period of 2025, our exports reached 178 billion dollars, a 4.3 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year.”

Highlighting that food supply is one of the most critical elements of economic stability, social prosperity and sustainable development, he added, “Türkiye stands out globally as a reliable and sustainable food supplier. Thanks to this solid foundation, our country is writing the success story of the 21st century in agricultural and food exports. Our agricultural and food exports, which stood at 3.7 billion dollars in 2002, surged more than ninefold, reaching 32.6 billion dollars in 2024. In the first eight months of 2025, our exports reached 20.7 billion dollars. Today, Türkiye ranks 21st in global agricultural exports with a 1.5 percent share and confidently supplies products to a broad market stretching from Iraq to Germany, the US to Italy.”
