The China International Import Expo (CIIE), the world’s largest import fair and one of China’s most prestigious exhibitions, once again served as a platform for significant business connections in 2025.
The Turkish National Participation organisation, led by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), took place from 5 to 10 November 2025, with 18 companies from Türkiye participating in the fair. Commercial agreements worth 83.5 billion dollars were signed at CIIE.
Mehmet Ali Işık, Chair of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, announced that the organic sector in China has grown 1.6 times in the last six years, reaching 15 billion dollars.
He noted that participants at the 2025 China International Import Expo made business connections worth a total of 83.5 billion dollars, a 4.2 per cent increase over the previous year, setting a new record since the CIIE began in 2018.
Sharing the information that a networking event was held on 8 November 2025 with the participation of Chinese and Turkish businesspeople within the scope of the China International Import Expo, Işık said, “Fifteen Chinese companies participated in our networking event. Our companies held successful meetings. The Commercial Attaché in Shanghai, Ms Tuğçe Terzi, participated in the event and provided information. The Chinese are seeking new partnerships due to the recent customs duty issue they have experienced with the United States.”
“We have gained the impression that new partnerships with the Chinese in Türkiye may be on the agenda. We want to ramp up our exports to China to 12 billion dollars in the long term,” Işık added…
