Işık; “We are working to take a stronger place in the TIM top 1000 exporters list in 2024”
Stating that Türkiye has been exporting dried figs, dried apricots and sultanas for hundreds of years, Aegean Exporters’ Associations Sustainability and Organic Products Coordinator and Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association Chairperson Mehmet Ali Işık said that the leadership of the Aegean Region in dried fruit exports continues today.
Informing that the export performance of the dried fruit sector rose from 611.6 million dollars to 741.5 million dollars with a spike of 21 percent in the January – May period of 2024, Işık said, “In the last 1-year period, our exports progressed from 1 billion 546 million dollars to 1 billion 738 million dollars with a 12.4 percent development. We are taking firm steps towards the export target of 1.8 billion dollars that we set at the beginning of the year.”
“As Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, our exports soared by 19 percent in the last 1-year period, from 877 million to 1 billion 40 million dollars. Our share in the country’s dried fruit exports was 60 percent. In 2024, we are in a joint effort with our producers, traders, exporters, research institutes, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ministry of Trade and universities in order to take place in the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) top 1000 list with more companies. With our Development of International Competitiveness Projects and TURQUALITY Projects, we carry out effective marketing by participating in fairs. In order to ramp up our exports to 2 billion dollars in 2025, we will try to do our best,” Işık added…
