The ‘Field Day’ event was held at the trial field of the Eastern Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute Directorate to introduce local and national seeds.
Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Mehmet Nuri Kökçüoğlu stated at the event that wheat and barley are among the strategic products.
Kökçüoğlu said that they prioritise increasing the production of these products and thanked those who worked on developing the seeds.
İbrahim Cerit, Director of the Eastern Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute, noted that the institution has contributed directly to agricultural production by developing 115 varieties in its 101-year history.
Following the speeches, plaques were presented to those who contributed to the development of wheat and barley varieties.
Participants then received information about the developed seeds and conducted inspections in the fields where trial plantings were carried out…
