İbrahim Afyon, Head of the Central Union of Egg Producers, emphasised that there is no decrease in egg production and explained that the price hikes are not due to production, but to perception and market price scissors.
İbrahim Afyon, Head of the Central Union of Egg Producers (YUM-BİR), stated that there is no decrease in egg production and said, “The price hikes mentioned in the market are not related to egg production, but due to the perception created and the price scissors in the markets.”
OPPORTUNISTS IN ACTION!
Afyon spoke about the discussions on egg prices. Reminding that bird flu was seen in Konya province two weeks ago, Afyon explained, “This was not a problem caused by bird flu. Production continued, egg delivery to the market was not disrupted in any way. Some traders looked for new suppliers in this situation. There was a perception in the market in the search for new suppliers. This situation was special only for the buyer of that region. Opportunists tried to spread it to the whole. They pretended to search for eggs because they could not find eggs. There is no problem right now. We can respond to all demands.”
‘WE HAVE NO PROBLEM IN PRODUCTION’
Afyon pointed out that ‘a bad atmosphere is tried to be created in the market due to traders’ and added, “We do not have a shortage in egg production. It is said that prices have increased. This increase is not due to the producer. There is no decrease in egg production. The scissors opened in the markets. Price hikes are not related to egg production, but due to the perception created and the price scissors in the markets.”
Underlining that the price of eggs without special production is at the same level as in January, Afyon concluded that a pack of eggs is 140 liras.
