Considering the 21st century as the ‘Asian Century’, Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, which strengthens its position in the Far East and Southeast Asia market day by day, participated in the Asia Fruit Logistica Fair held in Hong Kong on 04-06 September 2024 with an info booth.
Sharing the information that Asia Fruit Logistica Fair is the largest fresh fruit and vegetable fair in the Asian market, Hayrettin Uçak, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, said, “Within the scope of our Asian Century Strategy, we accelerated our promotional activities for Far East and Southeast Asian countries. While 14 Turkish companies participated in the Asia Fruit Logistica Fair, whose national participation organisation was organised by the Mediterranean Exporters’ Associations, 750 companies from 37 countries took part in total. The fair hosts over 20 thousand visitors every year, mainly from Asian countries. Our stand was visited by importers from many countries, mainly from China and India.”
Pointing out that in 2023, they exported 7 million dollars to Hong Kong. 75 percent of the exports are fresh fruits and vegetables, Uçak noted, “With 2.6 million dollars of exports, fresh black figs rank first. In the January-September period of 2024, we exported 5 million dollars to Hong Kong. Our stand was visited by our Hong Kong Commercial Counsellor Mr. Dinçer Tatlıoğlu and Hong Kong Consul General Mr. Kerim Sercan Evcin. We continue our activities successfully with both fairs and our Development of International Competitiveness Projects and sectoral trade delegations. Far East and Southeast Asia is an extremely important market for the fresh fruit and vegetable sector. We had a very productive fair.”
