Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Interdisciplinary Digital Agriculture Master’s Programme students learn the integration of digital technology into the agricultural sector as well as traditional agricultural methods.

The programme, which was opened in 2023 at the Institute of Science and Technology, integrates agricultural technology and digital innovation, offering students the opportunity for technology-based education at the graduate level in the agricultural sector.
Students learn the integration of digital technologies such as digital tools, data analysis, sensor technology, artificial intelligence, IoT (internet of things) into the agricultural sector and are trained as experts who can use modern digital solutions as well as traditional agricultural methods.
“We will also open a PhD programme in the coming years.”
Professor Dr. Ahmet Şekeroğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies and Head of the Department of Digital Agriculture, said that they brought together agricultural sciences and digital innovation with this programme.

Explaining that they bring together new and contemporary issues, Şekeroğlu said, “Digital agriculture is a branch of science that aims to transfer new technologies to agriculture. We are still very new, our number will boost in a short time and we will open a doctoral programme in the coming years.”
