Hayrettin Uçak, Head of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB) stated that the fruit and vegetable products sector will launch a new Turquality Project prioritising the UK market under the leadership of the Ministry of Trade in 2024.
“As the food sectors within the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), we have ramped up our food exports to the USA from 138 million dollars to 346 million dollars with an increase of 151 percent in 5 years thanks to the TURQUALITY Project named ‘Turkish Tastes’, which we have been continuing for 5 years to raise the awareness and export of Turkish food products in the US market. We believe that with the new TURQUALITY Project of our fruit and vegetable products sector, the implementation of the Dikili Agriculture Based Specialised Organised Industrial Zone and the marketing activities we will carry out under the leadership of our Ministry of Trade, our exports of fruit and vegetable products will multiply and exceed 5 billion dollars in 2028,” Uçak said.

Sharing that the pepper pickles group was at the top with an amount of 144 million dollars in the fruit and vegetable products exports of 1 billion 168 thousand dollars made by the members of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Products Exporters’ Association in the past 1-year period, Uçak summarised the export figures of other product groups as follows; “Dried tomato exports were 115 million dollars, gherkin pickle exports were 111.5 million dollars, apple juice and concentrates exports were 91 million dollars, frozen tomato exports were 49 million dollars, roasted vegetables were 42.5 million dollars, tomato paste was 42 million dollars, frozen strawberries were exported for 27.5 million dollars.”
Germany, USA and UK preferred Turkish fruit and vegetable products the most…
“Photofinish determined the leadership in the exports of fruit and vegetable products made by the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Products Exporters’ Association. While Germany was at the top with a demand of 176.5 million dollars, the USA, which stepped on the gas in exports with the TURQUALITY Project of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, became the summit partner with an amount of 176.2 million dollars. The UK entered the list from the third place with a demand of 86 million dollars. The Netherlands, Italy, Canada, Canada, France, Poland, Australia and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus were the top 10 countries in the export of fruit and vegetable products. In the last 1-year period, fruit and vegetable products were exported to 124 countries from EYMSİB,” Uçak added…
