A “Tomato Harvest Festival” was organized by Bursa Agriculture and Forestry Directorate and the Chamber of Agriculture in the Ovaazatlı District of Mustafakemalpaşa, where most of Turkey’s tomato needs are met.

Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Director Hamit Aygül also stated in his speech that Mustafakemalpaşa and Karacabey districts are among the brand regions in fruit and vegetable growing. Pointing out that the potential of fruit and livestock is high and that these areas should be developed and the advantages should be evaluated.

Aygül underlined that they do not want tomato paste manufacturers to engage in price-reducing policies in tomato purchases.

In his speech, Mehmet Aydemir, Chairperson of the Chamber of Agriculture, stated that Turkey has been going through a difficult period in recent days due to the pandemic, fire and flood disasters and said that the producers are trying to stay afloat.
