Grapes, figs and apricots lead the Aegean region’s dried fruit exports…

In dried fruit exports in the Aegean Region; sultanas, dried figs and dried apricots accounted for 94 per cent of total exports.

Seedless raisins ranked first in dried fruit exports from the Aegean Region with an amount of 481 million dollars, while the amount of foreign currency obtained from raisin exports soared by 15 percent.

Turkish grape cakes were preferred by the British for afternoon tea. In seedless raisin exports from the Aegean Region, the UK remained at the top with a demand of 112 million dollars. Türkiye exported 60 million dollars worth of sultanas to the Netherlands and 56 million dollars worth of sultanas to Germany. Aegean exporters exported raisins to 78 countries.

Exports of dried figs, the fruit of paradise, surged by 22 percent from 203 million dollars to 251 million dollars. Thanks to the TURQUALITY Project carried out by 6 food Associations under the roof of Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) in the USA market for 5 years, the countries dried fig exports to the USA increased by 42 percent in the last 1 year from 35 million dollars to 50 million dollars and strengthened its place at the top.

Türkiye succeeded in exporting 29 million dollars of dried figs to France and 28 million dollars of dried figs to Germany, which are among the country’s strong markets in dried fig exports…
