Fresh fruit, vegetables and products exporters aim to break a record in exports in 2021…
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB) awarded 40 companies which made the biggest contribution to the highest export figure in its 54-year history of 1 billion 40 million dollars in 2020. EYMSİB aims to break an export record in 2021.
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association’s “Stars of Export Award Ceremony” and 2019-2020 Ordinary General Assembly were held together.
Speaking at the general assembly held at İzmir Kaya Thermal Hotel, Hayrettin Uçak, Chairperson of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, stated that they broke an export record in 2020 despite the pandemic.
Uçak said, “We have exceeded the 1 billion dollars export threshold for the first time in our Association’s 54-year history. We brought 1 billion 40 million dollars in our country. We are rewarding our 40 members who contributed 587 million dollars to this export. I wholeheartedly congratulate all our members who have contributed to this record ”.
Uçak also pointed out that fresh fruit and vegetable exporters have very important ongoing problems. Uçak summarized the inability to export to Saudi Arabia, a ban on exports of cherries to China, a quota for Russia’s tomato exports and not being able to find empty containers for export.
