Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, which ranks at the top in the production and export of cat-dog food, started a social responsibility project to provide food to animal shelters in Izmir region free of charge from the member companies of the Association.
Muhammet Öztürk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, said, “The Aegean Region is at the top in the production and export of cat-dog food. We aim to help a shelter every month. This month, our Association member company DFC Pet contributed to the provision of food.”
Pointing out that the global trade volume in the cat-dog food sector was approximately 23 billion dollars in 2022, Öztürk explained, “We aim to raise the awareness of responsibility for animal rights in Türkiye to higher levels. Our Turkish food producers not only meet the food needs of our dear friends, but also boost their export volumes day by day. In 2021, our country, which exported 54 million dollars of cat-dog food, expanded its cat-dog food exports by 64 percent to 88.5 million dollars in 2022.”
“In 2022, the number of countries to which Türkiye exported cat-dog food reached 94. In the January-September period of 2023, exports were 89 million dollars with an increase of 50 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The export volume of 54 million dollars, which corresponds to 60 per cent of this export, is made from our Association. In 2023, we expect our cat-dog food exports to exceed 110 million dollars,” Öztürk added…
