FAO-TURKIYE’S WORK ADVANCES ON THE SYRIAN REFUGEE RESPONSE PROJECT…

5 September 2022, Ankara – On 13 September, representatives from the Government of Türkiye, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the European Union will take part in the InfoPoint Virtual Conference at the European Commission to discuss progress, achievements, and successes on the joint Syrian refugee response project. The hybrid conference is being organized within the scope of the “Building Resilience of Syrians Under Temporary Protection and Host Communities in Türkiye through Supporting Socio-Economic Integration and Creating Livelihood Opportunities”, which is implemented by FAO and funded by the European Union.

This EU-funded initiative aims to strengthen the resilience and socio-economic integration of Syrians under Temporary Protection (SuTPs) and vulnerable host communities in Türkiye by supporting agriculture-based livelihoods and improving access to employment in the agrifood sector. The Infopoint Virtual conference will provide an opportunity to share outputs and ongoing activities of the project with all participants. The project is carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security within the scope of the Syrian Refugee Resilience Plan.
