Ahmet Dündar, Chairman of Turkish Ornamental Plant Growers Union, said that the sector exported 64 million 682 thousand dollars in 2017, this figure was 71 million 239 thousand dollars in 2018 and 80 million 406 thousand dollars in 2019.
Noting that imports declined to 84 million 282 thousand dollars in 2017, 60 million 941 thousand dollars in 2018 and 43 million 36 thousand dollars in 2019, Dündar said, “In our ornamental plants industry, we experienced an increase in exports while a decrease in imports every year.”
“In the first 6 months of 2020, a total of 44 million 774 thousand dollars of exports and 23 million 440 thousand dollars of imports were made. We were close to 50 million dollars in the first 6 months of the year. The export we made last year was 80 million dollars,” Dündar noted.
