Eren Günhan Ulusoy, Chair of the International Association of Flour Industrialists and Grain Producers (IAOM) for Eurasia, stated that Türkiye has been the world’s leading flour exporter since the 2014-2015 season, saying, “We expect or rather, are confident, that it will be the world’s leading flour exporter in the 11th season as well.”

Answering questions from an Anadolu Agency (AA) reporter as part of the “4th IAOM Eurasia Conference and Exhibition,” a major gathering of the global grain sector organized by the IAOM Eurasia Regional Presidency, Ulusoy commented on Eurasia’s role in global grain supply, Türkiye’s leadership in flour exports, the supply outlook, and food security.
Ulusoy noted that the Eurasia region accounts for more than 55 percent of the world’s wheat production and 59 percent of its exports, adding that this region could be described as the “world’s granary.”
“Therefore, when a war broke out between two major producers in the region, Russia and Ukraine, the world faced an earthquake in the granaey and that’s why we saw prices skyrocketing globally and some countries resorting to excessive stockpiling to ensure food security,” Ulusoy said…
