Press release…
Emre Uygun, Chair of the Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association, stated that Türkiye is among the world’s leading countries in olive and olive oil production, also emphasizing that it holds a strong position in the sector thanks to its diverse climate, rich soil and millennia-old production culture.

Announcing that the 2024/2025 table olive season has been completed, Uygun said, “Our black olive exports soared by 19 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 194 million dollars, while our green olive exports soared by 29 percent, reaching 61 million dollars. Thus, we set a new record in table olive exports with a total revenue of 255 million dollars. While our olive oil exports decreased by 48 percent to 244 million dollars, olive pomace oil exports soared by 11 percent, reaching approximately 50 million dollars.
“As the sole umbrella exporters’ association in Türkiye, we are determinedly continuing our efforts to enhance the share of packaged and value-added exports. We organized successful sectoral trade delegations with the participation of 11 companies simultaneously with the Fine Food Australia Fair held in Melbourne, Australia, in 2024 and 12 companies simultaneously with the Natural Products Expo West Fair held in Los Angeles, USA, in 2025. Furthermore, in September, we held a meeting in Toronto, Canada,” he noted.
Pointing out that they further strengthened the sector’s presence in North America with the trade delegation they organized with the participation of 16 companies, he added, “The bilateral meetings held during these events led to the establishment of important commercial connections. Furthermore, we continue to strengthen the visibility and prestige of Turkish olive oil in global markets through promotional and tasting activities conducted at national participation fairs organized by the Aegean Exporters’ Association in the US, Japan and China.”
