A shared goal from field to laboratory: Domestic production
Senior management from the Kayseri Sugar Beet Growers’ Cooperative—one of Türkiye’s largest farmer cooperatives—visited the Agrobest Group Salihli Production Facilities and the company’s R&D Centre, which is certified by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Faruk Eroğlu, Chairman of the Board of Agrobest Group, stated, “The coming together of producer organizations and the industry at the same table is decisive for the future of Turkish agriculture.”

Continuing its efforts to boost productivity in agricultural production and observe domestic production capacity firsthand, a delegation from the Kayseri Sugar Beet Growers’ Cooperative visited Agrobest Group’s production and R&D facilities in Manisa’s Salihli district. The visit was attended by Cooperative Chairman Hüseyin Akay, Cooperative Manager İbrahim Timurkaynak and Deputy General Manager Fatih Karahan.
After receiving information from Agrobest Group Chairman Faruk Eroğlu regarding formulation and production technologies, multi-stage quality control processes and laboratory infrastructure, the cooperative’s management exchanged views with company executives on solutions tailored to sugar beet cultivation. A key highlight of the visit was the Agrobest Group R&D Centre, which is certified by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
Faruk Eroğlu: Yield in the field begins with the right input

Commenting on the visit, Agrobest Group Chairman Faruk Eroğlu noted that the Kayseri Sugar Beet Growers’ Cooperative stands as one of the strongest examples of production in Turkish agriculture. Emphasizing that sugar beet involves a value chain extending from the field to the factory, livestock farming, and the agricultural economy, Eroğlu said, “The first link in this chain is yield in the field. That yield begins with the right seeds, the right crop protection, and the right plant nutrition solutions. We work alongside established producer organizations—such as the Kayseri Sugar Beet Growers’ Cooperative—to safeguard the value created by our farmers. With over seventy years of experience and thousands of farmer members, the Kayseri Sugar Beet Growers’ Cooperative is a vital part of this country’s agricultural heritage. We were honoured to host the leadership of such a well-established institution at our facilities.”
Eroğlu highlighted the strategic importance of domestic production with the following remarks:
“Our goal with the operation we established in Salihli is to produce strategic crop protection products on our own soil and to shield our producers from the cost and supply risks associated with foreign dependency. We rigorously test every formulation developed at our R&D Centre—certified by the Ministry of Industry and Technology—before introducing it to the field. We do this because we know that a single season for our farmers represents a full year of hard work. Protecting that effort is our responsibility.” Highlighting the importance of cooperation between producer organizations and the industrial sector, Eroğlu noted, “Our cooperatives are the institutions that best understand the needs on the ground. We aim to address those needs through science and production capabilities. It is crucial for the future of Turkish agriculture that producer organizations and the industry sit at the same table and focus on the same goal. We wish to continue sharing knowledge and experience with the Kayseri Beet Growers Cooperative in the field as well.”
Hüseyin Akay: Our cooperative is a big family
Hüseyin Akay, Chairman of the Board of the Kayseri Beet Growers’ Cooperative, emphasized the significance of the visit for the cooperative. Akay said, “Our cooperative is not merely a commercial entity; it is a large family that unites the hard work and dedication of thousands of our farmers. We closely monitor every development that can boost our farmers’ yields and believe that we must shape the future of agriculture through R&D. It is extremely valuable for us to see firsthand the domestic enterprises in our country that are engaged in production and investing in laboratories and engineering talent. We extend our thanks to Mr. Faruk Eroğlu, Chairman of the Board of Agrobest Group and his entire team for their hospitality and close attention.”
