Yağcı: “The decrease in exchange rates causes our products to be exported cheaply”
Cahit Doğan Yağcı, Chairman of the Aegean Furniture Paper and Forestry Products Exporters’ Association, said that the dollar exchange rate, which entered 2021 at the level of 7.43 TL, declined to 7.05 on February 5, 2021.
Yağcı said, “The US dollar has melted 5 percent against the Turkish Lira. Under these circumstances, to take steps to eliminate the political tensions that fall on us. Ensuring stability in the economy should be our focus without making law and justice a matter of debate.”
“All industries have already been shaken due to the pandemic. This should not continue in 2021. Despite the pandemic, the 2020 exports of Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) members have managed to exceeded 13 billion dollars. The decline in exchange rates causes our products to be exported cheaply,” Yağcı added.
