Bedri Girit, Chair of the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, said at the Summer Fancy Food Show that Turkish food exporters had the second largest participation after Italy.

Underlining that the Turkish Tastes Project and the SUMMER FANCY Food Show in New York complement each other very well, Girit said, “When the Turkish Tastes Project began in 2018, Türkiye’s food exports to the US amounted to 786 million dollars and by the end of 2024, we reached 1.8 billion dollars. Türkiye hiked its rank from 34th to 27th place among countries exporting food to the US.”
“We are building strong bridges with the US market through the Turkish Tastes project carried out by our six food associations operating under the umbrella of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations,” Girit noted.
“Our collaborations with the American Culinary Federation, our participation in the National Restaurant Association Fair in Chicago and the reception we held at the Turkish House provided valuable opportunities not only to share our products but also the people, values and stories behind them. We are taking firm steps toward our goal of 5 billion dollars in food exports to the United States,” Girit added…
