Bedri Girit, Chairperson of the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, said that demand for breeding eggs increased
Underlining that Turkey’s egg export increased by 63 percent from 93 million dollars to 151.4 million dollars in the January-May period of 2021, Girit said, “Although we had some problems in the export of table eggs, there was an increase in the demand for breeding eggs worldwide in 2021.”
Pointing out that the demand for breeding eggs in Turkey’s egg export comes from Russia intensively, Girit explained, “With the rise in the demand for breeding eggs, Russia has become the country where the most eggs are exported. In the January-May period of 2021, Russia ranked first in egg exports with an amount of 26.5 million dollars, while the United Arab Emirates came in second with 23.3 million dollars. As for Iraq, where we can export breeding eggs; We exported 20.3 million dollars of eggs.”
“These countries were followed by Syria, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Bahrain and Dubai. We also received high demand from Turkic Republics in the export of breeding eggs. In the first five months of 2021, we exported eggs to 38 countries,” Girit added…
