AN ‘OLIVE WORKSHOP’ TO BE HELD BY MARDİN ARTUKLU UNIVERSITY…

Mardin Olive Workshop will be organized by Mardin Artuklu University (MAÜ) for the development of olive production in the region.

According to the statement made by MAÜ, the olives grown in the province and the surrounding provinces of the region, which received gold and silver medals in the International Olive Quality Competition held in England and Japan; It was reported that “Mardin Olive Workshop” will be held in order to develop the sector in all kinds of activities related to production, processing and marketing.

The workshop, which will be held online by MAÜ with the support of Derik District Municipality and Dicle Development Agency, will be attended by the guests from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, local representatives of academicians, researchers, relevant public institutions, farmers and producers’ unions, sector representatives and other stakeholders.

Rector Professor Dr. İbrahim Özcoşar said, “We aim to identify problems in the field and offer solutions by integrating with the people of the region and farmers with our strong academic staff.”

Dr. Özcoşar underlined that MAÜ will lead the farmers to produce products of higher quality and higher added value.

“I do believe that the workshop will be the locomotive power in the development of olive cultivation in Mardin province and making it a sector in the region,” Dr. Özcoşar added…
