AGRICULTURAL LANDS OF KAZAKHSTAN NOT TO BE SOLD TO FOREIGNERS…

Kazakhstan President Kasım Comert Tokayev announced that they have permanently prohibited the sale of agricultural lands in Kazakhstan to foreigners.

Kazakhstan leader Kasım Comert Tokayev announced that his country has decided not to sell agricultural lands to foreigners. With this decision, the ongoing discussions on land reform plans in Kazakhstan ended.

Final decision had been deferred to 2021…

Evaluation of the sale of agricultural lands to foreigners in Kazakhstan, which caused protests in the country in 2016 and that because of the protests, the government in that period postponed the final decision on this matter until 2021.

Stating that the decision does not need to be left to 2021, Tokayev said that it is time to close this issue thoroughly.

Kazakh leader Tookayev concluded, “Agricultural lands of Kazakhstan will not be sold to foreigners. We will not go back to this issue again.”
