July 2026…
Aegean fresh fruit and vegetable exporters, who supply over a hundred products—ranging from citrus fruits to figs and from grapes to tomato paste and pickles—to global markets, ramped up their exports by 2 percent to 572 million dollars in the first half of 2026.

Fresh fruit and vegetable exporters from the Aegean region are accelerating their expansion into the Far East with a trade delegation to Japan and South Korea. The sector anticipates that the reopening of the Chinese market will present a significant opportunity for Turkish cherries.
Cengiz Balık, Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, stated that they consider 2025 to have been a successful year for their sector.
“Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our members, we exported fresh fruit, vegetables and processed products worth 1 billion 231 million dollars to 128 countries. With this performance, our Association has maintained its position as the leader in agricultural product exports in the Aegean Region. Approximately one-fifth of Türkiye’s total exports of fresh fruit, vegetables and processed products were carried out by our Association’s members. From citrus fruits to figs and from grapes to tomato paste and pickles, over a hundred of our products have reached global markets,” he said.
“This picture clearly demonstrates the fertility of the Aegean region’s soil and the global competitiveness of our members. We would like to thank everyone involved in this chain, from producers to exporters,” he added…
