Harun Çallı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Packaged Milk and Dairy Products Manufacturers (ASÜD), highlighted that despite Türkiye producing nearly 21.5 million tonnes of milk annually, there is a significant lack of awareness regarding children’s regular milk consumption.

In a statement marking 1 June World Milk Day, ASÜD Chairman Harun Çallı emphasised that milk and dairy products are a fundamental component of a healthy diet and called on consumers to choose registered, inspected and packaged products.
In his assessment marking World Milk Day on 1 June, Harun Çallı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Packaged Milk and Dairy Products Manufacturers (ASÜD), stated that milk and dairy products are a fundamental component of a balanced diet for both children and adults.

Pointing out that Türkiye ranks among Europe’s largest milk producers, Çallı said, “Turkish dairy sector holds strategic importance not only in terms of production capacity but also regarding food security, quality and exports.
Recalling that the country’s dairy exports reached 523.3 million dollars in 2025, Çallı added, “Cheese accounted for the largest share of exports at 236 million dollars (45.1 per cent), whilst ice cream exports amounted to 72.7 million dollars, representing 13.9 percent of total exports.”
