Exporters from the Aegean region met with commercial counsellors who have served for four years in various parts of the world to help Türkiye achieve its export targets.

At the “Commercial Counsellors’ Meeting” organised by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), 10 commercial counsellors held over 150 bilateral business meetings with member companies of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations.

Highlighting that 235 trade attachés are currently serving in 170 centres across 115 countries, as part of the Ministry of Trade’s mandate to help Türkiye achieve its export targets, Muhammet Öztürk, Coordinator Chair of the EIB, said: “Our commercial counsellors gain a wealth of experience whilst representing our country in the nations where they are posted. They build up a vast body of knowledge regarding those countries. We have acted as a bridge to ensure this information reaches our exporters. Our companies have gained insights into 10 countries. We believe we will see the impact of this network exchange on our exports in the coming period.”

The Aegean Exporters’ Associations organised the “Commercial Counsellors’ Meeting” in Izmir for the third time. The Aegean Exporters’ Associations have begun preparations to hold a new trade counsellors’ meeting early in 2027 with individuals who have served as trade counsellors in other countries and have since returned home.
At the Aegean Exporters’ Associations’ “Commercial Counsellors’ Meeting”, İrem Ekmekçi Konuk, Berat Demirci Cörüt, Uğur Uzunay, Mustafa Furkan Albayrak, Savaş Tarhan, Güzide Zeynep Karahisarlı, Yusuf Yıldız, Erbay Ongun, Betül Buke Karaçin and Mustafa Gökçeoğlu were among the counsellors sharing their experiences.
