256 MILLION DOLLARS FROM DRIED APRICOTS…

Dried apricots continue to bring foreign exchange in Turkish economy.

Foreign sales of Malatya apricot does not slow down despite the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to the data of Malatya Commodity Exchange, an income of 227 million 757 thousand dollars was obtained against the export of 89.268 tonnes of dried apricots in the January-November period of the last year.

In the same period of this year, 81 thousand 364 tonnes were exported and 236 million 555 thousand dollars foreign currency inflow was achieved in return.

Malatya Commodity Exchange Chairman Ramazan Özcan said, “We estimate that we will end the year with approximately 90 thousand tonnes of dried apricot exports and 256 million dollars of revenue.”

Özcan added that European countries such as Germany, France and Italy took the first place in dried apricot exports, followed by the USA.
