Turkish food exporters set export target of 1 billion dollars to Saudi Arabia…

Saudis flocked to Turkish food products. Organised by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), 18 companies from Türkiye took part in the “Saudi Arabia Food Trade Delegation”, while 44 importing companies from Saudi Arabia participated in bilateral business meetings to import Turkish food products.
“We had nearly 280 business meetings with 44 importing companies”
Muhammet Öztürk, Chair of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, announced that 280 bilateral business meetings were held between Turkish food exporters and 44 Saudi importers in Riyadh, that each of the Turkish companies had at least 12 bilateral business meetings, that they had a very successful trade delegation and that the participating companies requested new trade delegation organisations in Saudi Arabia and target markets.

Emphasising that there is an intense interest in Turkish products in Saudi Arabia and that the positive course of political relations between the two countries supports the increase in mutual trade, Öztürk said, “Saudi Arabia is a country that hosts 20 million tourists annually, as well as a population of 35 million people with high purchasing power. They have annual food imports of 27 billion dollars. Türkiye’s food exports soared by 23 percent in 2024 from 374 million to 461 million dollars.”
“In the first quarter of 2025, our food exports to Saudi Arabia surged by 13 percent from 129 million to 146 million dollars. As Turkish food exporters, we have the potential to export more to Saudi Arabia. Our goal is to exceed 500 million dollars this year and to ramp up our food exports to Saudi Arabia to over 1 billion dollars in the next 5 years. These organisations will be our driving force to reach these targets. We believe that our negotiations will turn into export contracts in a short time,” he added…
