Climate changes in the world in recent years have brought humanity to focus more on sustainable, green production. Leaving a healthy and livable world for future generations has risen to the top of the agenda of the world.

Aegean Exporters’ Associations, aiming to export 15 billion dollars in 2021 with green production, will organize “EIB Sustainability Days”. The training programme, which will start online on January 12, 2021, will be free and open to the participation of all exporting companies.

Stating that they declared 2020 as “Sustainability Year”, Aegean Exporters’ Associations Coordinator Chairman Jak Eskinazi said, “We realised many projects related to sustainability in 2020. EİB is the first exporter association who owns ‘Zero Waste Document’ and also a member of United Nations’ Global Compact in Turkey.”

Eskinazi noted that sustainability studies will be among their priority issues in 2021 and beyond.

Pointing out that they are aiming to increase their sustainability competence in “EİB Sustainability Days’, Eskinazi added, “European Union (EU) to which Turkey has been making 50 percent of its exports, is aiming to transform the European continent as carbon-neutral by 2050. For this purpose, EU is implementing a series of policies. This developments make the sustainable production model not an option, but a necessity.”

“In trade, sanctions that will increase costs for exporters such as carbon tax and zero waste tax are on the agenda. Therefore, we aim for our exporting companies to produce in accordance with the European Green Agreement. We organized ‘EIB Sustainability Days’ in order to increase the sustainability competencies of more than 8 thousand exporters of our Aegean Exporters’ Associations. As we said in the sustainability manifest we published previously, we will continue our work with the slogan ‘For a sustainable world, sustainable production and sustainable export’,” Eskinazi concluded…
