Vietnam and the Philippines; a new destination for food exports

Turkish food exporters, aiming to secure a stronger position in the rapidly growing food markets of South-East Asia, have opened the door to new business partnerships through a sector-specific trade mission programme they carried out in Vietnam and the Philippines. Organised under the auspices of the Mediterranean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association (ASHİB), the programme—which included bilateral business meetings (B2B), official engagements and sectoral visits—brought Turkish firms together with the region’s leading importers, distributors and organised retail chains.

The ASHİB Vietnam-Philippines Food Sector Trade Mission, held between 22 and 30 July 2026, was attended by 17 representatives from 12 companies operating in the seafood, meat and dairy products, poultry, feed, beverages and processed food sectors. The delegation, led by Ali Can Yamanyılmaz, Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) and Vice-President of ASHİB and ASHİB President Yüksel Akgöl, included representatives from Adamarin Seafood, Akdeniz Integrated Food, Akgöl Fisheries, Kilikya Turnip, Mes Meat and Dairy Products, Demireller Fuel, Pilyem Food, Sasu Water and Agricultural Products, Şen Poultry, Yörük Dairy, Güney Dairy and Akyem Adana Feed.

As part of the programme, Turkish companies had the opportunity to establish new commercial links by holding one-to-one business meetings with over 20 importers and distributors in Vietnam and 28 in the Philippines. According to information obtained from the companies, a total of 111 bilateral business meetings were held in Vietnam and 131 in the Philippines…
