Stating that veterinary surgeons play a very important role in the fight against coronavirus, Veterinarian Professor Dr. Tamer Dodurka said, “Veterinary research institutes have at least 120 years of vaccine production experience; veterinarians have known coronaviruses for 60 years, they have been fighting in the field and have already managed to produce vaccines for some coronaviruses.”
Emphasizing that veterinarians have had a great role in preventing many direct animal-borne epidemics in the last 50 years, Rector of Istanbul Rumeli University Professor Dr. Tamer Dodurka noted, “The most dangerous diseases passing from animals to humans in Turkey have not been eradicated yet. Unless these diseases can be prevented by veterinarians at the animal level and safety in animal food from farm to fork, there is not a single place left in human hospitals.”
“Therefore, especially in developed countries, when it comes to veterinary medicine, not only animal diseases, but also environmental health, public health and food safety come to mind,” Dr. Dodurka added…
