The Western Mediterranean Exporters’ Association (BAİB), which covers Antalya, Isparta and Burdur provinces, exceeded the export figure of 1 billion dollars earlier than last year.

BAİB Chairman of the Board of Directors Ümit Mirza Çavuşoğlu said that they started to reap the fruits of their overseas commercial visits and URGE projects to ramp up the exports of the region.
Stating that exports from the region on 1 January-9 May this year exceeded the same period of 2024, Çavuşoğlu said, “1 billion dollars is not an unattainable figure for our region, but we exceeded this limit 10 days earlier than last year. This is pleasing. We have realised an increase above Türkiye’s average.”
Pointing out that fresh fruits and vegetables ranked first in exports on a sectoral basis with 332.7 million dollars, Çavuşoğlu reported that mining ranked second and wood and forestry products ranked third.
Highlighting that the most exported product is tomato, Çavuşoğlu noted, “Tomato is followed by pepper.”
