Press release…
Türkmen Türkmenoğlu, Member of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, said that pickles, frozen fruit, tomato paste and ready-to-eat Mediterranean delicacies sourced from the Aegean Region reflect the country’s culinary identity.

He shared that over 1 billion dollars of Türkiye’s 2.7 billion dollar fruit and vegetable product exports in 2024 originated from the Aegean Region.
Emphasising that the fruit and vegetable products sector achieved 161 million dollars in exports to the United States in the first five months of 2025, Türkmenoğlu said, “This striking figure reflects the strong position Turkish products have gained in the American market and the shared appreciation for quality, authenticity and healthy eating. From gourmet kitchens to retail shelves, Türkiye’s fruit and vegetable products continue to stand out with their Mediterranean-inspired flavours and modern innovation. The United States is not only an important trading partner for us but also a significant area for gastronomic creativity. Through collaborations like today’s, we continue to build lasting bridges between cultures, chefs, and communities.”
Pointing out that the Turkish Tastes Project of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations has received extensive coverage in the media, he added, “The successes achieved by Turkish exporters in the high-quality, healthy and gourmet product segments have attracted international attention. With the support of chefs, importers, diplomats and buyers, they are determined to continue sharing the flavours that embody our country’s spirit and bringing them to tables around the world.”
