Türkiye’s fisheries exports reach 1.8 billion dollars in 9 months…

Türkiye’s fisheries exports rose by 16.5 percent in the January–September period compared to the same period last year, reaching 1.8 billion dollars.

According to data from the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, fisheries exports surged by 5.5 percent in volume during the first nine months of the year, totalling 216,465 tonnes. The sector’s average export price per kilogram also rose from 7.57 to 8.35 dollars.

Having recorded exports worth 1.552 billion dollars during the January–September period last year, the sector achieved exports totaling 1.808 billion dollars in the same period this year—a 16.5 percent increase.

Exporters from the Aegean region—who account for approximately 68 percent of the country’s fisheries exports, driven by aquaculture operations concentrated in Izmir and Muğla provinces—reached an export value of 1.222 billion dollars.

In terms of product groups, sea bass retained the top spot with 596.594 million dollars in export revenue. Sea bream exports totaled 454.494 million dollars, while 431.167 million dollars was generated from exports of Turkish salmon, the farming of which is rapidly expanding in the Black Sea and inland waters. During the same period, trout exports were recorded at 102.613 million dollars and bluefin tuna exports at 56.982 million dollars…
