Türkiye’s table olive exports surged by 26.5 percent in the 7-month period of the 2024/25 season, from 128 million to 162 million dollars. The olive sector is moving forward with sure steps toward the 250 million dollar export target as it set at the beginning of the season.

Türkiye is preparing to achieve historic success in table olive exports, where it is the world leader with a harvest of 750 thousand tonnes in the 2024/25 season.
Stating that they exceeded the 200 million dollar threshold for the first time by exporting 78 thousand tonnes of table olives in the 2023/24 season, Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association (EZZİB) Chairperson Emre Uygun said that table olive exports surged by 33 percent in quantity in the 7-month period of the 2024/25 season from 48 thousand tonnes to 64 thousand tonnes.
“We are moving forward with sure steps towards the 100 thousand tonnes of table olive export and 250 million dollars of foreign exchange income target we set for the 2024/25 season. We congratulate all our producers and exporters who contributed to this success,” Emre Uygun said.
Green olive exports up by 43 percent…

Uygun, who informed that black olive exports exceeded 49 thousand tonne s in the table olive exports that started on October 1, 2024, continued as follows; “We earned 123 million dollars in foreign exchange from black olive exports. While the spike in our black olive exports compared to the same period of the 2023/24 season was 22 percent, our green olive exports had a more successful period. Our green olive exports soared by 46 percent in quantity from 10,243 tonnes to 15,000 tonnes, while the foreign exchange income soared by 43 percent from 27.3 million dollars to 39 million dollars.”
Pointing out that the top three countries in table black olive exports were Germany, Iraq and Romania, Uygun added, “Black olive exports to Germany amounted to 32 million dollars, while 23 million dollars worth of black olives were exported to Iraq and 17 million dollars worth of black olives were exported to Romania.”
“Germany also ranked first with a demand for 9 million dollars worth of green olives, while Iraq came in second with 6.8 million dollars. 4.5 million dollars worth of table green olives were sent to the USA. The number of countries to which table olives were exported was 110,” Uygun concluded…
