There seems no difficulty in tomato in terms of production in the new season…

Tomato Paste, Frozen and Canned Food Industrialists Association (SALKONDER) Board Member Rıza Seyyar said that Turkey is one of the important countries in tomato paste exports.

Pointing out that they stand out with quality in tomato paste, Seyyar said, “You can see Turkish tomato paste in important markets of the world. We are especially preferred in the USA, Europe, Asia and Middle East countries with our brands.”

Stating that there was some decline in exports compared to last year, Seyyar explained, “This was due to stock accumulation because of high yield, but we will take measures to avoid similar problems in the future.”

Indicating that there is a period of 3 months to the harvest, Seyyar added, “New harvest means new crops and new stocks. Manufacturer exporters will have a plan according to available stock. A shortage of tomato in terms of production in the new season does not appear as of today.”

“It had the largest harvest of tomato last year in the last 10 years in Turkey. Approximately 3 million 800 thousand tonnes of industrial tomatoes were produced. 2 million 900 thousand tonnes of this amount came to the industry, the rest was consumed in the domestic market,” Seyyar concluded…
