The goal is to open up new markets…
Mehmet Cirav, Chairman of the DKİB Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Sector Committee, told an AA correspondent that Türkiye had performed well in hazelnut exports last year.

Cirav stated that Turkish hazelnuts found buyers in 122 countries, primarily Germany, adding, “We earned a total revenue of over 2.256 billion dollars. The Eastern Black Sea Region exported approximately 1.324 billion dollars worth of hazelnuts to 86 countries. Italy, Germany and France were the top export destinations both for Türkiye as a whole and for our region.”
Cirav emphasised that they had also succeeded in exporting to new markets last year, noting that these developments demonstrated the global demand for Turkish hazelnuts and the high regard for their quality.
Drawing attention to their high expectations from hazelnut exports, Cirav made the following assessment:
“This year, our goal is to enhance our share in existing markets while opening up to new markets and further diversifying our exports. We are closely evaluating opportunities in Africa and Asia. We also plan to ramp up our export volume from our region and enhance the competitiveness of our producers and exporters. In this context, Turkish hazelnuts will continue to be one of the most preferred products in the global market. We believe this.”
