“TURKISH FOOD PRODUCT EXPORTS TO THE USA GROW WITH THE EIB TURQUALITY PROJECT”

For the promotion of Turkish food products in the US market, in partnership with 6 Associations (Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, Aegean Dry Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, Aegean Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters’ Association, Aegean Fresh Fruits, Vegetables and Products Exporters’ Association, Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association, Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association), the positive returns of the activities within the scope of the Turquality Project, which is carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Trade and in the organization of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), have begun to be seen.

Aegean Exporters’ Associations Coordinator Chair Jak Eskinazi said, “According to Trademap data, the imports of the USA from all over the world in 2021 increased by 19 percent compared to 2020, in total, in the product groups promoted within the scope of the Project. In the same product groups, imports from Turkiye rose by approximately 34 percent.”

“When the introduced sector data is examined; exports soared by 75 percent in fruit juices, 70 percent in vegetable oils, 60 percent in sea bass, 50 percent in dried apricots, 30 percent in olive oil and 26 percent in spice products,” he added.

“We plan to continue our activities by raising our targets in our project, which is carried out with the support of our Ministry of Trade,” he concluded…
